I had to take permission from the government of India to shoot this wonder of the world, up close, with a large format camera and a tripod. I was allowed only 2 hours and was escorted by 3 armed guards throughout the shoot. I was literally running with my heavy backpack for those 2 hours, with barely 5 mins per stop to take a single exposure. It was early September, and the heat and humidity were unbearable. This easily remains the most grueling single photography session of my life!

This is the only image I was able to make that evening. The sun was rapidly setting, and I had just enough time to compose a single shot and take a few different exposures. Very satisfying result!
